Measuring the perception of students teacher´s school

Abstract

Academic quality in the normal schools must be a constant premise to improve the study programs. Therefore, knowing the perception of students about their teachers and institution is a key element to implement effective changes in relation to intellectual skills, didactic skills, ethics, among other aspects related to the school environment. The aim of this study was to describe the graduate profile of normal education based on the level of student satisfaction, and thus know of his professional training before their entry into the workforce, besides identifying institutional strengths and weaknesses. We apply an instrument of 71 items to measure perceptions of students in the eighth semester of the bachelor’s in education telesecundaria one of the five public normal schools in the state of Veracruz. The results show the level of negative and positive perception of students on academic training received at school normal school. Also, the instrument provided information on academic strengths and weaknesses of the institution, evidence which may assist and improve the educational service.
